Daily Life of a Food Truck

Employees prepping the food truck

Working on a food truck isn’t always the easiest but we enjoy it enough to keep at it. We thought today we’d give you a little look into a typical shift at Okamoto Kitchen!

Festivals Every Weekend!

If you would like to ask where we’ll be showing up next or would like to place a request, hit us up on Facebook or Twitter! For now we’re going to highlight some events that we’ll be participating in! So if you’re stuck on what to do this weekend while also afraid of being far from us, here’s a list you can peruse!

Anime and food collide!

We love anime! We love food! That’s why we made an anime style food truck. At the end of the night, after working hard on the food truck it’s finally time to relax and watch anime… about food. What’s not to love about food? It keeps you alive while also being tasty.

Help us reach #1 for LA Weekly’s Best of!

We here at Okamoto Kitchen are constantly humbled every day by all our customers. All things considered, we’re a relatively new truck that’s only been around since July 1, 2015 but have managed to grow so much thanks to all the customers that patronize our truck. Despite being so young back in 2015, we still managed to make it to the top 3 of the Readers’ Choice Awards.

Okamoto Kitchen’s winter adventure in Tokyo, Japan

During the holidays, we took a two week trip to Tokyo, Japan, where chef Chizuru was born and raised. For those who have never been to Tokyo, we wanted to share memories from our trip, giving you an idea of what the city is like as seen by a Japanese native.

LA Times features Okamoto Kitchen!

The LA Times wrote a nice story on our truck and dove a little deeper into the critical role that fighting games had in bringing two of our principle characters together.
